In addition to live music, lots of restaurants, the Kid's Zone, and an art show, the Noble Street Festival will feature the Sunny King Criterium as the headline event.

Racing is deep-rooted in the Anniston area with our "need for speed" satisfied for decades by NASCAR and the famous Talladega SuperSpeedway. Racing enthusiasts in the region have discovered the Sunny King Criterium, evidenced by the thousands of spectators that line the downtown race course. Cyclists from around the world will compete on a NASCAR-style 1 kilometer short-course, reaching sustained speeds near 40 mph in multiple races all afternoon. The headline events include the nationally recognized races featuring professional men & women teams competing for $22,500. Pro Women race in the afternoon. The final race of the evening will feature more than 100 Pro Men racing 70 laps, and will begin at 7:30 p.m. under the streetlights of newly restored downtown Anniston.

The Sunny King Criterium has again been selected by USA Cycling as a National Racing Calendar event for 2008. The event benefits the local Relay for Life, an American Cancer Society fund-raiser. We have donated almost $30,000 to this worthy cause since 2005.
